Some Legacy

By Richard Koss

The kind of world I see today, it seems, has passed me by.
If truth makes you uncomfortable, then it’s okay to lie.
Women talk and act like men, I saw that just today.
It matters little what we do, only what we think or say.
Rudeness, crudeness, disrespect, these are all okay.
Courtesy and common sense just get in the way.
But we care about our senior men, helped them get erect.
We can do most anything that’s politically correct.
There’s no longer good or bad or even right or wrong.
No need to read or write if you play ball or sing a song.
A young girl told me, “Man, don’t look so sad.
Life is good and things are really not so bad.”
What we need to do, she said, should be obvious to us all.
Get rid of guns and cigarettes and even alcohol.
No more capital punishment or death of any kind.
Except for an abortion now and then, if you are so inclined.
Let’s legalize drugs, stop making it seem so criminal.
After all, we now know brain damage is really very minimal.
Let’s take the homophobics, racists, bigots, deport them all away.
Bring in more illegal immigrants, welcome them to stay.
With no more guns, we’ll soon see a declining murder rate.
As for the ones that do kill, at least it won’t be out of hate.
Now for all of this and more to come, we’ve one erect man to thank.
You know it’s Bill, he did it all, with help from Barney Frank.
