Cowboy Sonnet #34

To capture knowing you in perfect words and thoughts, I must relate
The tiny ordinary moments such as: chatting on the phone;
The tango glance on floors at bookstore closing times while sipping late;
Hot cocoa on the chilly days; the voice of you are not alone;

The ravioli at Antonio's; the pseudo symphonies
At Denny's, I-HOP; seeking discounts at the local Taco Bell;
The sandwiches at TJ's; Sunday breakfast meeting at KC's;
The prayer words said before and after meals, so eager for to tell;

The Ghirardelli chocolate at hockey practice in the mall;
The Twigsicles, blue-bellied, native, parakeet, with feathers tight;
The simply striking hues, not muted, of your wardrobe for the fall;
The pavement slick and shimmering with wet fall yellow brown at night.

In celebration of year-one you place God first, in his employ,
To do his Will and seek his Word, the source of all, mainlined to joy.
