The Poetry of Kenn Mitchell Kenn Mitchell has written poetry since 1965. In 1972 he graduated from Cal-State, Stanislaus with a B.A. in English. After graduation, he moved to Oregon where for the past 25 years he has worked a variety of jobs in the timber industry- from a barker operator to security guard - mostly for small saw and veneer mills that no longer exist. Currently he works for Weyerhaeuser Containerboard making paper for the outside of cardboard boxes.
Kenn's poetry has appeared in over 70 magazines. His first book (Poetry of the Deformed) was released in January 1997 by Pygmy Forest Press. His second book of poetry (The Fatman In The Mirror), also by Pygmy Forest Press, was released in December 1997. Cedar Hill Publications has accepted a third book (Proverbs For The Initiated) for a late 1998 release. Most recently Kenn's poetry has appeared in Semi-Dwarf Review and Cedar Hill Review.
in the past year, Kenn has had a new book - "King Of Oafs" released, by Echo Park Books. The books are hand made, in limited editions. At 50 years of age, Kenn is co-editor of a small free poetry magazine given away locally in Eugene. He likes to hear from other poets.
