Warren Masten

is a 63 year old retired elementary school teacher who now has a video production company, Palo Colo. Productions. His main effort with the business is to get people to put their family histories on tape.

Warren is married. His wife, Mary, is a middle school counselor. He has two children who are off on their own. A son, Walt, 33, and a daughter Wendy 29.

Warren Masten lives in his self built home in the Santa Lucia Mountains south of Carmel, California.

Warren says: "I enjoy open space, clear, cool, running water, and the idea that there are probably lots of other planets in the universe that support life that is getting it done right. I like a good book, a good play, most classical music and the San Francisco 49ers. Fishing is and has always been my passion. I have been a fly fisherman for about 50 years. I believe that trout and salmon are the primary markers that indicate the wellness of our western rivers or any river for that matter. We are not doing too well."

Warren goes on, "I dislike crowds, Cable TV, ignorance and people who are unwilling to admit they might be wrong and refuse to find out.

My goal in life is to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am. (I wish I had thought that on up, but I didn't.) My number one belief is there is only one prime problem that plagues this planet and that is overpopulation. The solution to this problem is through education and time (perhaps 300 years). Allow the population to get down to a fraction of what it is now, continue the education and I believe we would be back in business though there would be a heck of a lot of cleaning up to do. I think old Ma Nature will take things into her own hands via plague, etc. if we don't work it out ourselves.

With fishing his passion, naturally, it's Warren Masten's writing topic too.
