The Poetry and Prose of Elizabeth Langford Why Don't I Write? - - - An Essay, July 14, 2001For Bob Oldenkamp - - October 21, 1922 - April 13, 2001
Elizabeth Langford is an 55 year old sassie woman who decided that writing isn't as terrifying as her English teacher made it out to be. It's a horror, instead. But, her sense of humor has made the crying easier to handle.
Since she has started writing, several short stories and a poem have been published in various E-zines since 1999. She was also invited to be Fiction Editor for a now defunct E-zine due to the death of the owner/editor. That experience was an eye opener and a major stroke to her ego.
She belongs to three writing groups and mumbles along trying to find the right voice for her writing.
She works as a public servant in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is bullied by her parakeet, Josh, and holds court around her bar-b-q most weekends that she is not fishing. Her grandson is a scamp and humbles her every time he shows his face at her door.
Brought up in San Antonio, Texas, she spent her time basking in the hot sun, wondering why ants worked so hard to live then got married when she turned nineteen and found out. After six years of living in an ant hill, she divorced and stayed in Minnesota. Her hobbies are writing (of course), reading, watering her garden, scolding her grandson and chasing after her son in college to come home and smell the bar-b-q.
Elizabeth is currently writing a humorous interview with a devil of a monster who needs to make a living.
