HISTORY

In order to understand the scope of an event such as Expo 67, we must consider the steps leading to its creation. First of all, how did the project begin? The circumstances surrounding the bid and awarding of the Universal Exposition of 1967 to the City of Montreal are particularly interesting. The site choice caused quite a stir, and a considerable amount of ink flowed as a result of Mayor Drapeau's decision. The unique conditions prevailing throughout the construction of the site and various facilities are also worth examining.
