Photograph of Private Donald Fraser
A studio portrait of Fraser probably taken prior to his departure overseas. The sheep-skin overcoat was never a favourite among Canadian troops. Dirt was easily trapped in the long hair, and when wet, it had an unpleasant odour. The sheep skin was eventually replaced by the much longer, warmer and durable great coat.
