Photograph of the Steinway piano, on display at the National Library of Canada
The Steinway piano CD318, which Gould discovered in Eaton Auditorium and used for most of his recordings from the early 1960s until the late 1970s, on permanent display in the main foyer of the National Library of Canada building. The piano, maintained as Gould preferred it, is used from time to time for concerts at the National Library.
