3. Development Of The GC RMAP

This application profile is a project of the Government On-Line Metadata Working Group9 - Records Management Sub-Group10 in partnership with the Government Information Management Office of Library and Archives Canada. It draws on the expertise of specialists in records management, information management, library and information science, information technology, metadata and archives from across the GC.

In particular, the GC RMAP is the result of the efforts of a smaller working committee of the Records Management Sub-Group. This working committee, formally known as the Records Management Sub-Group - Application Profile, was the primary creator of the GC RMAP. All work was vetted and approved by the larger Records Management Sub-Group and ultimately the Steering Committee.

The Records Management Sub-Group - Application Profile wishes to acknowledge work done by a previous Records Management Sub-Group from April 2003 to March 2004; materials produced from that group were invaluable in the preparation of this application profile.
