Culminating Activity

Students will select from a variety of culminating tasks. By combining their research, analyses, interpretations and conclusions, students will demonstrate what they have learned about Grosse Île.

Learning Outcomes

Note: Teachers may use outcomes below as criteria for an assessment tool or rubric.

In this activity, students will demonstrate:

  • organization and time management;
  • evidence of incorporating research;
  • proper citations and bibliography;
  • the ability to make decisions and draw conclusions about their topic.


  1. Students will select their culminating activity from Handout 3.1.
  2. In groups or individually, students will complete Handout 3.2 to organize their final product.
  3. Students will arrange a meeting with the teacher at least once to document their progress (Handout 3.3).
  4. Students will use notes from previous activities and the links from the Activity Resources section.
