Jacques Plante always had a mind of his own. Sporting his trademark tuque, he poses with his Québec Citadelles teammates in 1947.

On November 1, 1959, Canadiens goaltender Jacques Plante donned his famous goal mask for the first time in a league game. He had already been using it in practice.

Maurice Richard played his full eighteen-season career with the Montreal Canadiens, retiring in 1960. Tommy Gorman, who managed the Canadiens when Richard joined the team, wrote this note on the back of the photo: "Maurice (The Rocket) Richard, probably the greatest player I have ever signed. He was recommended by Art Therien, of Verdun, and did not cost Les Canadiens one dollar. We scouted Richard in an open air rink out in Bordeaux.
