    IFLA is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession.

  • L'Association pour l'avancement des sciences et techniques de documentation (ASTED)
    Since 2003, the ASTED has been preparing this Congress with great enthusiasm in close collaboration with Quebec and Canadian associations and institutions.

  • Canadian Library Association (CLA)
    CLA and ASTED have established a new charitable organization named "BibliøMondialis: Canadian Partners for Library Bridge-Building" in time for the 2008 IFLA World Library and Information Congress. BibliøMondialis has as its mission to collect and manage funds to financially support international librarianship. In 2008, the objective is to put in place a bursary program to help delegates from developing countries attend the 2008 IFLA World Library and Information Congress. After 2008, the objective will be to encourage Quebecois and Canadian colleagues to take part in international activities like the IFLA Congress and to financially support research projects, studies or developments focusing on international issues.
