Although Library and Archives is not the repository for passports, the Li-Ra-Ma files may include
Polish, Lithuanian and Belorussian passports. Most applicants acquired these documents
from local authorities to leave eastern Europe. In Canada, they exchanged them
for identity papers confirming their Russian citizenship.
