Register of Identifiers of Name Authorities

Complete this form and submit it to the Interlibrary Loan Application Standards Maintenance Agency to reserve a namespace for use in ILL messaging to identify the name authority as used in the <identifier of name authority> in the data element
"System-ID-Person-Or-Institution-Symbol".

The formatting of this data element is described in Clause 7.1 in the IPIG Profile for the ISO ILL Protocol Version 1.0
Reports submitted using this form will be posted to the Register of Identifiers of Name Authorities .

NAMESPACE:

Provide an alphanumeric string, to represent the authority in This string must be unique on the list. All alphas are lower case. This string is carried in all occurrence of the system-id within ILL protocol-based messages exchanged between IPIG implementors. If possible, limit the length to 3-4 characters.

AUTHORITY OWNER:

The organization (library, consortium, etc.) responsible for maintaining the authoritative list.
For example, Library and Archives Canada

AUTHORITY:

The name of the authoritative list to which the namespace refers. For example, Symbols and Interlibrary Loan Policies in Canada.

AUTHORITY's WEB ADDRESS (if available):

The URL for the online version of the Authority, if available.

Information of the person whom the Maintenance Agency can contact on matters concerning the namespace registration. Note that this information is kept in Maintenance Agency files, and is not published as part of the register.
