  1. Make a list of the unusual or creative features you notice in this book.
  2. Is the artist trying to convey a message? What is it?
  3. Is the message being conveyed through the words, the images, or the words and images? How?
  4. Are the themes and messages obvious? Why?
  5. How can the subject of a book influence its shape or presentation?
  6. Explain how the following elements are used:
    • The shape of letters
    • The colours
    • The arrangement of words on the page
  7. Do you notice different types of writing or poetry? Which?
  8. What visual arts do you see? (e.g., use of watercolour or ink, type of paper, etc.)
