Scope and content
Fonds consists of the following series: correspondence, 1897-1966; memoranda and notes, 1892-1966; Alden G. Meredith's album containing articles, reviews and letters, 1839, 1928-1929; and photographs by C.P. Meredith of historic Ontario buildings, 1915-1925. Fonds also consists of photographs of Meredith, his family and friends; aspects of the life of the Meredith family; and various Canadian regiments and veterans. Fonds also consists of a watercolour of a view of the Rideau Canal at Confederation Square, Ottawa and a print of a bird's-eye view of Victoria, Vancouver Island, B.C.

Biography / Administrative history
Lieutenant-Colonel C.P. Meredith, the son of Edmund Allen Meredith, was born at St. Andrews, N.B. He trained as an architect and became president of the Ontario Association of Architects in 1912. In 1908 he became a commissioner of the Ottawa Improvement Commission, and served as general secretary of the League of Nations Society of Canada from 1925 to 1934. Meredith joined the Militia in 1892, and from 1915 to 1918 was camp engineer and later camp commandant of Camp Petawawa.
C.P. Meredith and his wife, Alden G. Griffin,, had an active interest in the history of early Ontario settlers, and wrote a number of articles on this subject. Mrs. Meredith was the author of Mary's Rosedale and Gossip of Little York, 1928.
