Series of etchings by E. Finden from original drawings by Captain G.F. Lyon (1795-1832), who commanded one of the ships in Capt. W.E. Parry's 1821-23 arctic expedition in search of a Northwest passage. Images depict scenes of arctic life, showing Eskimo people in various situations. Prints are taken from various publications, including: - "The Private Journal of Captain G.F. Lyon of H.M.S. Hecla... Under Captain Parry..." [Parry's 2nd Arctic Voyage], London: 1824. Drawn by Capt. G.F. Lyon, Engraved by E. Finden, published by John Murray. - W.E. Parry, "Journal of a second voyage for the discovery of a North-West Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific; performed in the years 1821-22-23 in His Majesty's ships Fury and Hecla" (London: John Murray, 1824).
