Scope and content
Series consists of three reproductions of lithographs by J.R. Coke Smyth, entitled: Montreal; Church at Beauharnois; and Quebec from the Chateau. These images from Coke Smyth's "Sketches in the Canadas" (1838) were reproduced for a calendar in 1956 by Rolph-Clark-Stone Ltd. of Toronto. The images are from the Coke Smyth Collection in the Sigmund Samuel Canadiana Gallery of the Royal Ontario Museum. An information sheet from Rolph-Clark-Stone Ltd. about Coke Smyth and the three calendar prints accompanies the "Montreal" reproduction. The "Montreal" reproduction is unmounted and is stored in a different box from the other two prints, which are mounted. Another set of these reproductions was acquired from Rolph-Clark-Stone Ltd. in 1956: see acc. no. 1956-044. This set is of unknown provenance.
