Black and white photographic reproduction of a lithograph by J.R. Coke Smyth entitled "Quebec" (plate 5 in "Sketches in the Canadas", c. 1840). Image depicts a view of Quebec City, seen from the water, where there appears to be a shipwreck. Three people are paddling away in a small boat as a ship begins to capsize.
