Scope and content

Reproduction of an engraving by J.G. Muller (published in London in 1798) after a painting by American Revolutionary artist John Trumbull. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, during the Siege of Boston early in the American Revolutionary War. Maj. Gen. Joseph Warren lies mortally wounded on the left of the scene, while the battle rages on.
