Sub-series consists of a single, un-numbered, file containing a variety of correspondence and departmental memoranda relating to undelivered land warrants issued to members of the military who participated in the Red River Expedition, and to members of the North-West Mounted Police. The file jacket indicates that these documents are draft copies of records filed under 1993280. The latter is a central registry file entitled "List of the Red River Rebellion Land Warrant, 1909-1948". It is found in RG 15, series D-II-1, vol. 1061. Since a number of these records either originate with the Land Patents Branch and are signed by N.O. Coté, the Branch Controller, or originate elsewhere and are addressed to Mr. Coté, it is likely that the file was created and/or used by Mr. Coté in his capacity as a senior administrator with the Department of the Interior. The file was found with several other un-numbered files which are also believed to have been created and/or used by Coté (see: RG 15, series D-II-8-g). Many of the records in this draft file are annotated.
