Colour photogravure after a painting by H.A. Ogden, an American artist and illustrator who did some illustrations for Picturesque Canada, as well as a series of historical views of the American Revolution. Image depicts the British entry into Philadelphia, Sept. 26, 1777, showing men in military costume, riding horses and playing in a band as they march down the street. A woman and child look on at the right.
