Consists of a sheet of paper with several clippings pasted to it. The top clipping is a typewritten extract from "The World Book", page 4917, entitled "A Pleasure Ride on an Early American Train". Below is a clipping from the Canadian National Railways Magazine, March 1920 (p. 66), entitled "First Locomotive in N.A.". The text is accompanied by a reproduction of a photograph by J.G. Taylor of the Samson locomotive, which ran at Stellarton, N.S. in 1839. The other two clippings are photomechanical reproductions depicting "The Stevens Locomotive - an attempt of 1825" and "The Tom Thumb, Built by Peter Cooper in 1829".
