A print after the painting, ‘Trafalgar' by William Overend, exhibited in the Royal Academy in 1898. This print was published in "Holly Leaves", the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News Christmas Number, 1898. The quotation below the image is taken from Robert Southey's biography, ‘Life of Nelson' (1814). Image depicts Lord Nelson standing on the right on the deck of the ‘Victory', while the activity of battle rages around him. W.H. Overend was a marine and military painter who worked as an illustrator for the ‘Illustrated London News'.

Ornaments which rendered him so conspicuous a mark for the enemy were beheld with ominous apprehension by his officers; it could not be doubted but that his life would be particularly aimed at.
