H.R.H. Prince Philip signs the membership book of the Royal Society of Canada, prior to receiving a diploma designating him an Honorary Fellow at Government House, Ottawa, Oct. 14, 1957. H.M. Queen Elizabeth and H.R.H. Prince Philip received the heads of the Commwealth and foreign missions at Government House, Oct. 14, 1957, Ottawa, Ontario. H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. Prince Philip bring greetings to 15,000 school children,assembled on the grandstand at Lansdowne Park, Ottawa, Oct. 16, 1957. In their company are Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, Mayor George Nelms is seen on H.M.'s right. To the right are the representatives of the school children, who presented a nosegay to the Queen, namely Gail Cook and Robert Allard. 






























































































Construction of diversion to the Victoria railway and highway bridge across the St. Lawrence River to permit passage of trains above the seaway channel near the St. Lambert Lock, P.Q., on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. Alternate use of lift spans will provide uninterrupted passage of trains and cars across the St. Lambert Lock. Montréal, Québec.

This is one of the wonders that the recently adapted Québec City winter navigation program has done. Never before until three years ago could ships from Europe come up the St. Lawrence River but today even in the dead of winter special foreign ice reinforced ships come up the river. Here they are unloading radios with police guard in background.
