Biography / Administrative history

Archibald MacKechnie, tailor and lay minister, was born on the Island of Mull, Argyleshire, Scotland. At the age of 19, he entered the British Navy and served under Lord Nelson. In 1821, Archibald MacKechnie, his wife Ann Wright and family immigrated to North America and settled near Bristol, Lower Canada.
