Biography / Administrative history

Alpheus Todd was assistant librarian in the Library of the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada, 1836-1841, and of the Province of Canada, 1841-1854. In 1854 he became principal librarian and in 1870 was appointed parliamentary librarian.

Additional information

A large proportion of these letters are from George Conventry, an agent employed by the Legislative Library to collect historical information.
