Item is a reminiscence of Green Thurman and Isaac Renfrew recorded by a resident of Lucan, Ont. The reminiscences include information regarding the life and experiences of Green Thurman who was born a slave in Missouri, and who, after failing to purchase his freedom, escaped to Canada with the aid of his friend, Isaac Renfrew, and later settled at Lucan, Middlesex County, Ont.
