Biography / Administrative history
William Francis O'Connor, lawyer and public servant, was appointed law clerk of the Senate in 1934, after having practised law in Halifax, Ottawa and Toronto. He held various official positions during his career, including presiding commissioner of the Board of Commerce, 1919-1920, took an active interest in constitutional matters, and assisted Sir Robert Borden in the arrangement of his papers and the preparation of his memoirs.
