Biography / Administrative history
Born in Saskatoon, in 1919, Estey was educated at the University of Saskatchewan and Harvard Law School. He was called to the Bar of Saskatchewan in 1942 and Ontario in 1947. A lecturer at Osgoode Law School, Estey became Chief Justice of Ontario in 1976. He was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1977 and retired in 1988.
