Scope and content

This series includes a variety of documents, such as an account book, drafts of legislation, petitions, receipts and estate papers, for the period 1748-1877 (volume 30). Also included is a "Guest book" of the Manoir Papineau at Montebello, Québec, 15 June 1904 - 22 September 1929 (volume 38). This series also includes correspondence, accounts and other papers relating to Louis-Joseph Papineau and the Montebello Manor in Montebello and Louis-Joseph-Amédé Papineau and his property "Belle-Rive" in Montréal, 1811-1898 (volume 39); and a certificate proclaming the marriage of John Try-Davies and Eleanor Ellis Westcott Papineau, 18 August 1875 (volume 40). We also integrated in this series several documents related to the lands in the Petite-Nation Seigneury, the estate of Louis-Joseph and his son Amédée Papineau, few plans, statements of accounts, judicial documents, and some codicils written between 1880 and 1896 by Amédée Papineau (volumes 107-109).
