Biography / Administrative history
Following the creation of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in 1966, agencies were joined to form larger administrative units called districts. The Prince George District Office was located in Prince George, BC and was established in December, 1975 when the name of the Lakes District office was changed to the Prince George District office. The Lake District office was created through the amalgamation in 1968 of the Burns Lake and Stuart Lake agencies.
Agents at the Prince George District Office were J.L. Homan ( -1977) and Myler Saville (1978- ). The office was responsible for: Blueberry River, Broman Lake 283, Burns Lake, Canoe Creek, Cheslatta 284, Clinton 285, Doig River, Fort George 286, Fort Nelson, Fort Ware, Fraser Lake 287, Halfway River, Ingenika 288, Lake Babine, McLeod Lake, Necoslie 289, Nee-Tahi-Buhn 290, Omineca 291, Prophet River, Saulteau, Stellaquo 292, Stony Creek, Stuart-Trembleur Lake 293, Takla Lake, and West Moberly Lake 294.
