Series consists of records created and/or maintained by the North Battleford District Office and its predecessors - the Battleford, Meadow Lake, Onion Lake and Duck Lake Agencies. The processed records in this series include agricultural and industrial statistics relating to bands of the former Duck Lake Agency as well as treaty annuity paylists, relating to bands of the former Battleford and Onion Lake Agencies.

Biography / Administrative history
Following the creation of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in 1966, agencies were joined to form larger administrative units called districts. The Meadow Lake and Battleford Agencies merged to form the North Battleford District Office, Saskatchewan effective 1 April 1970. The Meadow Lake District was established effective 1 April 1974 and the Canoe Lake, English River, Joseph Bighead, Meadow Lake, Peter Pond, Portage la Loche, Turnor Lake and Waterhen Lake Bands and their reserves were transferred from the North Battleford District into the new district. The North Battleford District, as well as the Meadow Lake District and the Pelican Lake and Witchekan Lake Bands of the former Shellbrook District, were amalgamated to form the North West District effective 1 January 1990.
