Biography / Administrative history

The Task Force on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was established in 1988. The mandate of this Task Force was to show Canadians the need and the reasons for this tax and to explain how it would affect them. One of the main tasks of the group was to organize promotion of the GST by producing and distributing documentation (video and audio cassettes and pamphlets) showing the need for such a tax. It also held consultations with various sectors of the economy and conducted an advertising campaign on radio and television. RG19 General Inventory
