Scope and content

The series includes autobiographical notes giving a rough chronology of Johnston's career; the manuscript of a semi-autobiographical, humourous account of his first flight [ca. 1919]; the typescript of Johnston's account of the life of Sig Arntfinson, whom he met at Port Radium in 1939 (see also correspondence 1939); two brief manuscript essays on photography; notes on art; typescripts of poems (one with small sketch on back); and typescripts of two short stories of fairy tales by Johnston, one of which seems to include childhood memories.
