Biography / Administrative history

The Receiver General was integrated within the Department of Finance in 1879. The minister of finance became the ex officio receiver general and the deputy minister of finance became the ex officio deputy receiver general. On April 1, 1969 the position of Receiver General for Canada was transferred from the Minister of Finance to the Minister of Supply and Services. RG19 General Inventory
