Scope and content

Series consists of central registry files created and maintained by the Economic Development Division. Biography / Administrative history

The Economic Development Division provides advice on program and policy formation in the areas of industrial development, regional development, transportation, communications, nuclear and hydro-electric energy, science policy and economic development generally. The primary focus of its work is on the programs and policies of other departments; its basic orientation is towards ensuring that new or modified programming proposals recognize general economic implications, and are consistent with overall government economic and financial objectives. After twenty years as a part of the Economic Programs and Government Finance Branch, this Division became a part of the Economic Development and Corporate Finance Branch in the 1990's.
