Biography / Administrative history
The Corporate finance division was created in order to expand and concentrate on certain activities previously associated with other divisions in the department. It operated from 1981 to 1986 as a division of the Economic Programs and Government Finance Branch. From the beginning the division monitored corporate financial health and corporate activities in Canadian financial markets. It provided in depth studies and research while offering policy advice on an ad hoc basis, depending on the immediate concerns of the deputy minister. RG19 General Inventory
