Series consists of correspondence of the office of the Commission appointed to organize the Victory Loan Campaign of the First World War. These records have become a part of the Department of Finance fonds because of the department's role as a central agency whose terms of reference extend to financial matters across all government activities.

Biography / Administrative history
The Victory Loan Campaign Commission was appointed to organize the Victory Loan Campaign during the First World War. Victory Loans were sold to the public as a means of raising money for the war effort. The first Victory Loan for 50 millions was floated by the Minister of Finance in 1917 and yielded more than 00 millions. Subsequent Victory Loans were floated in 1918 and 1919 and proved to be equally successful. RG19 General Inventory
