Scope and content

Series consists of various records relating to the lease of Crown Reserves in Upper Canada. The series includes such material as regulations, lease holders bonds, schedules of leases of school and clergy reserves. Also includes are various statements of accounts of the Commissioner of Crown Lands for Canada East and West. These records have become a part of the Department of Finance fonds because of the department's role as a central agency whose terms of reference extend to financial matters across all government activities.
