Scope and content

Series consists of various tariff records created and maintained by the Department of Finance. In much of the material transferred to the National Archives from the Department of Finance no pre-archival arrangement was discernable and, therefore, it has been considered desirable to revert to an arrangement under subject headings because of the diversified nature and small volume of some types of records.
