Sub-series consists of rough drafts of the contribution of various fields to the 1976-77 Annual Report (Volume 1570). Also included are files from other activities of the Division, including the publication of the Canada Handbook, the use of photographs, the technical aspects of publishing, publicity for publications and departmental liaison activities (see accession 1984-85/534)

Biography / Administrative history
The Information Division was responsible for providing information on departmental programs and services. The field also developed public relations programs in support of Statistics Canada objectives. In this role, the field oversaw the publication of the Canada Year Book, Handbook Canada, the Statistics Canada Daily. Its predecessor, the Information Services Division was created in April 1948, by the amalgamation of the group working in the Canadian Statistical Review with the Press and Publicity Section and the Distribution Unit.
