The Special Survey Co-ordination Division was established in 1973 to manage new and ad-hoc household surveys, to act as the focal point for special survey work requested by outside agencies and to administer the Treasury Board regulation - the "Ten Respondents Rule". This rule required that all government departments and agencies requesting information from more than 10 respondents consult with Statistics Canada. RG31 General Inventory.
