Additional information
Black and white glossy prints showing various aspects of the battlefield and behind the lines in France during World War I. Included are photographs from British, French, German, and possibly Canadian sources. The images show primarily the destruction of war: dead soldiers on the field; damaged buildings; destroyed towns and villages; ruined tanks; blasted battlefields; but also include some images of equipment and aircraft..
Most if not all of these photographs are prints made from 12th generation negatives. Identification is that assigned by the creator of the album, and is known to be incorrect in at least one instance; the accuracy of remaining notations is unknown; the captions should be used with some caution, as they may not be correct..
