The records in this accession consist of case files from the Headquarter (HQ6) Series. These case files contain information on individuals who were issued deportation notices after they were found guilty of violating Section 19 of the Immigration Act.
The files contain documentation such as correspondence, internal memoranda, minutes of inquiries, detainee expense sheets, affidavits, notice of appeals, reasons for judgement, telegrams, warrants of arrest, deportation orders, and reports provided by the RCMP or local police. If the case was appealed after a decision was reached by the immigration Appeal Board, the file would contain Federal Court and/or Supreme Court decisions.
