Scope and content

Album contains all b&w gelatin prints in various sizes relating to the activities of Oswald Sterling Finnie (1890-1978), federal administrator of the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Included are photographs of a trip by boat to Alaska and the Yukon, showing mainly buildings and sites in Dawson, Mayo, Keno and vicinity, 1922, but also including some Indian encampments and individuals. As well, there are photographs of a trip by air to the Yukon, showing Porcupine River, Circle City, Eagle and Dawson from the air plus buildings and groups in Dawson, Mayo and Keno, 1929. There are also prints showing mining activities on Dominion Creek, Dawson, the White Horse Pass, Chilkoot Pass, etc., 1898-1908. Photographers include O.S. Finnie, Wolfe, J. Doody, and H.J. Goetzman.
