Album documents the construction of the Canso Causeway connecting Cape Breton and the mainland of Nova Scotia, beginning September 1952, its development and official opening, August 3, 1955. Photographs of prominent individuals include: Allistar Fraser (Lieut.-Gov. of Nova Scotia), DOnald Gordon (Pres. C.P.R.), George C. Marter (Minister of Transport), C.D. Howe (Trade and Commerce), Hanry Hicks (Premier of Nova Scotia).
