Scope and content

Sub-sub-series consists of immigration passenger manifests for ships arriving at the port of North Sydney, adjacent to the city of Sydney, Nova Scotia, 22 November 1906 to 22 August 1922, and 1925 to 1935. The ships in question are mainly ferries sailing from adjacent ports in Newfoundland and from St-Pierre et Miquelon. Some of the passengers are in transit from other countries. There are also a few regular immigrant ship arrivals from European ports, and some lists of what appear to be land arrivals at Port Hawkesbury on the south shore of Cape Breton Island.
