Scope and content

Sub-sub-series consists of immigration passenger manifests for ships arriving at the port of Victoria, and at certain other British Columbia and U.S. Pacific Coast ports - including ships making intermediate stops - 18 April 1905 to 30 September 1922. These records list a significant number of immigrants arriving from East Asian ports (especially from India, China, and Japan).

The Chinese General Registers (RG76-D-2-a) can be used to trace names of particular Chinese immigrants in these manifests. For records from the period 1919 to 1924, see the Form 30A sub-sub-series (RG76-C-1-j).

This microfilm was produced by the Department during the 1950's and 1960's under microfilm authority M6-62. The originals were then destroyed.
