Scope and content

Sub-series consists of four letterbooks kept by John Hoolahan, the Dominion Immigration Agent in Montréal between 1893 and 1916. The letterbooks contain administrative correspondence with government officials, private individuals, and prospective immigrants. Lists of deportees and arrivals at Montréal are also included. The 1897-1899 letterbook contains an alphabetical index to names of recipients of the outgoing letters.
